Hello, super sports fans! Have you ever heard about a very special cricketer from Nepal named Nandan Yadav? He is like a superhero on the cricket field! He bowls very fast and hits the ball very hard. Let's learn all about his amazing journey, from a little boy playing cricket to a big star for Nepal, a real rising star!
Little Nandan's Cricket Dreams
Imagine a small village in Nepal, where kids love to play cricket. One of these kids was Nandan Yadav. He was born on July 27, 2000, in a place called Siraha. Even when he was very, very young, Nandan loved cricket more than anything. He would play with his friends using makeshift bats and balls. The sun would shine bright, and Nandan would pretend to be a big cricketer, hitting big sixes and taking many wickets.
His family and the people in his village saw how much he loved cricket. They saw that Nandan was special. He worked very, very hard. Every day, he would practice and practice. He wanted to be the best! It was like he had a secret superpower for cricket!
Becoming a Real Cricketer and a Rising Star
As Nandan grew older, his cricket dreams became bigger and bigger. He started playing for different teams, not just with his friends. He played for teams like Nepal Under-19, Pokhara Rhinos, and Nepal Police Club. It was like he was climbing a ladder, step by step, getting closer to his biggest dream: playing for Nepal! This is how he became a rising star.
Nandan is what we call an "all-rounder." This means he is good at two very important things in cricket: bowling and batting! He can throw the ball fast to get the other team's batsmen out, and he can hit the ball strongly to score many runs for his team. This makes him very special because he can help his team in many ways. His bowling style is "right-arm medium," which means he bowls with his right hand and at a good speed, not too fast, not too slow, but just right to trick the batsmen! And when he bats, he is a "right-handed batsman."
Big Games and Big Moments!
Do you remember when Nandan played his first big game for Nepal? It was in 2019, and he played against a team called the Netherlands. Imagine how excited he must have been! It was his dream come true. In that game, he bowled really well and took some important wickets. It was a super start to his international cricket story!
One time, in a game, he scored runs super fast! It was one of the fastest "fifties" for Nepal in a One Day International (ODI) game. A "fifty" means scoring 50 runs in one batting turn. Imagine hitting the ball so well and so many times that you get 50 runs! That's like scoring a lot of goals in a football game! Everyone was so happy and proud of him.
Nandan has played in many exciting games. Sometimes, his team needed to win, and Nandan would play so bravely. He would bowl carefully to stop the other team from scoring too many runs, or he would hit big shots to help his team get more runs. He is a very brave player who doesn't give up.
Challenges Nandan Faced
Nandan’s journey wasn’t always easy. He came from a small town, and sometimes he didn’t have enough money for cricket gear. Can you imagine wanting to play but not having the right bat or ball? That must have been tough! He also had to work very hard to get noticed by big teams. It's like trying to get picked for the school play when lots of other kids want to be in it too.
Once, something very important happened. Nandan almost left Nepal to go to a far-away country called Australia. But guess what? His mother gave him very good advice, and because of her words, he decided to stay in Nepal. That decision changed his life because he became a wonderful cricketer right here, for his own country!
Nandan also faced tough moments in matches. Sometimes, the other team played better, and Nepal didn’t win. That can feel sad, right? But Nandan never gave up. He kept practicing and believing in himself. His hard work paid off when he got to play for Nepal and make his family super proud. These moments show how strong and determined Nandan is.
