Nepal’s film industry has taken a bold step into the future with the arrival of artificial intelligence (AI) in movie marketing. The upcoming action film Abhimanyu: Chapter–1 has become the first Nepali movie to use an AI-generated Yeti (Himalayan snowman) as a promotional tool, making waves in the country’s digital and entertainment landscape.
This creative campaign marks a significant turning point for the Nepali movie industry and showcases how AI technology in Nepal is evolving beyond traditional sectors like education and business to now include film promotion and entertainment.
AI in Nepali Films: A New Beginning
The use of artificial intelligence in Nepal is growing rapidly. From online tools to smart devices, AI is now becoming a part of daily life. But Abhimanyu: Chapter–1 has taken things to the next level by using it in a way that is both exciting and imaginative — by designing a digital Yeti with AI tools.
The Yeti, a legendary snow creature believed to live in the Himalayas, is a symbol of mystery and power in Nepali folklore. By turning this legend into a lifelike AI character, the filmmakers have caught the attention of audiences across Nepal.
The AI-generated Yeti was featured in digital posters, video teasers, and even interactive content on social media, where it quickly became viral. The public response has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans praising the creativity and modern approach to film promotion in Nepal.
Behind the Scenes: How the AI Yeti Was Created
According to the production team, the AI Yeti was designed using advanced AI image-generation tools that take written ideas and turn them into realistic images. The team wrote detailed descriptions of how the Yeti should look — big, strong, white, and mysterious — and the AI created stunning visuals that matched their vision.
This AI-generated creature was then animated using digital editing software, allowing the Yeti to “move” and appear in short clips shared on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
“This was a completely new experience for us,” said a member of the creative team. “We wanted to do something never seen before in Nepal. Using AI in film marketing helped us connect with both young viewers and tech lovers.”
Why Use an AI Yeti?
There are many reasons why the filmmakers chose to use an AI character instead of a real person in a costume or animation done by hand:
Cost-effective – Creating a digital Yeti with AI is cheaper than using VFX or hiring actors with costumes.
Time-saving – AI tools can produce high-quality results in a short time.
Unique appeal – The AI Yeti is eye-catching and adds mystery to the film.
Social media engagement – AI content performs better online, especially with younger users.
By using AI, the team behind Abhimanyu: Chapter–1 has shown that Nepali films can be just as modern and innovative as those from big movie industries like Hollywood or Bollywood.
The Rise of AI Technology in Nepal
In recent years, AI in Nepal has expanded in many areas. From chatbots in customer service to online learning tools and language apps, AI is becoming an important part of how people live and work.
This film’s use of AI shows that Nepal is ready to embrace new technology in creative industries too. It is also inspiring other filmmakers and artists to explore what AI can do.
Experts believe this trend will grow. “What Abhimanyu has done is just the beginning,” says tech analyst Sandesh Acharya. “In the coming years, we may see entire scenes, characters, or even full short films made with AI in Nepal.”
Public Reaction to AI Yeti
The AI Yeti promotion has gained attention not only from fans but also from the wider entertainment and tech community. On social media, the posts featuring the digital Yeti were liked and shared thousands of times. Many commented on how “cool” and “futuristic” the campaign looked.
“This is what our film industry needs — creativity with modern technology,” wrote one fan on Facebook. Another said, “I watched the teaser just because of the Yeti. It’s so different!”
This kind of public support shows how effective AI-powered film marketing can be in grabbing attention and spreading excitement about a movie.
What’s Next for AI in Nepali Cinema?
Abhimanyu: Chapter–1 has opened the door for more innovation in the Nepali film industry. From AI-generated posters and characters to voiceovers and scriptwriting, the possibilities are endless.
As AI tools become easier to use and more affordable, even small film productions in Nepal may be able to use them. This will help them compete in a global market where creativity and technology go hand in hand.
With its bold use of an AI-generated Yeti, Abhimanyu: Chapter–1 has proven that the future of film promotion in Nepal is bright, digital, and full of possibilities. As audiences get ready for the movie’s release, one thing is clear — AI is no longer just a buzzword; it’s now a powerful tool for storytelling and innovation in Nepali cinema.
