Catastrophe strikes Rasuwa! The Miteri Bridge, a vital link between Nepal and China, was swept away by a sudden flood around 3 AM today. The disaster in Rasuwa has left dozens of electric vehicles (EVs) and other vehicles washed away in the raging waters. Authorities are scrambling to assess the damage as the region reels from this unexpected calamity.
The flood didn’t stop at the bridge. Dozens of trucks, heavily loaded with goods, were submerged in the turbulent waters. The road to Syafrubesi, a key route in the region, suffered severe damage, disrupting travel and trade. Parts of a nearby hydropower project were also impacted, raising concerns about long-term economic and infrastructural losses in the area.
Heavy rain has caused the Trishuli River’s water levels to rise dangerously, prompting urgent warnings from authorities. People near the river are urged to stay alert and take precautions to ensure their safety. The situation remains critical as more rain is expected, potentially worsening the flooding.
More details are still emerging as rescue and recovery efforts begin. The loss of the Miteri Bridge and the destruction of vehicles and infrastructure highlight the devastating power of nature. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and updates will follow as the extent of the damage becomes clearer.
