In a heartfelt speech in Bahrain, Kulman Ghising, the former head of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), shared a big dream for Nepal. Speaking to Nepalis living far from home, he said, “Nepal is changing. Things are moving forward, and now we must strive to do even better. Building the nation is a shared responsibility. This is a movement of light—not just electric light, but the light of good governance. Walk with me, I’m ready to lead.” His words lit up the room and gave hope to many.
On July 6, 2025, Kulman Ghising was honored by the Nepali community in Bahrain during a special event. This was part of his “Ujyalo Nepal” (Bright Nepal) campaign, which means bringing light to every corner of Nepal—not just with electricity but with fairness and progress. People clapped and cheered as he spoke about making Nepal a better place for everyone.
Who is Kulman Ghising?
Kulman Ghising is a hero to many Nepalis. When he led the NEA, he ended years of power cuts, called load-shedding, which meant homes and schools had light even at night. Kids could study, and families could live better. His hard work made him famous, and now he wants to do even more for Nepal.
But earlier this year, on March 24, 2025, the government removed him from his job at NEA before his term was over. This made many people sad and angry. Kulman Ghising fought this decision in court but didn’t win. Instead of giving up, he started traveling to meet Nepalis around the world, like in Bahrain, to share his ideas for a brighter future.
What Did He Say in Bahrain?
In his Bahrain speech, Kulman Ghising talked about how Nepal is already improving. “Nepal is changing,” he said, “but we need to work together to make it even better.” He explained that building a strong country is like building a house—everyone needs to help.
He called his plan a “movement of light.” This doesn’t just mean electricity. It means good governance, which is when leaders are honest, fair, and work for the people. He said, “This is not just about lights in homes but lights in our hearts—hope, trust, and fairness.”
He also asked Nepalis to join him. “Walk with me, I’m ready to lead,” he said, showing he’s ready to take on a bigger role, maybe even in politics. Many believe he could become a leader who brings real change to Nepal.
Why Bahrain?
Kulman Ghising chose Bahrain to start his campaign because many Nepalis live there, working hard to send money home to their families. These workers are important to Nepal’s growth. At the event, people like Ful Bahadur Bal, Deepak Gurung, and Raju Shrestha gave him a warm welcome and handed him a special letter to thank him for his work.
He told them, “I’m not here as a government worker. I’m here as a Nepali, joining hands with you to make our country better.” His words made everyone feel proud and hopeful.
What’s Next for Kulman Ghising?
After Bahrain, Kulman Ghising plans to visit other countries like Qatar, Oman, and the UAE to meet more Nepalis. His Ujyalo Nepal campaign is growing, and many are excited to see what he does next. Some people think he might join politics, maybe even run for a big role in Nepal’s government. There are rumors that a political party, the Maoist Center, might ask him to run in a by-election in Rupandehi-3 on November 3, 2025, but nothing is confirmed yet.
On social media, Nepalis are buzzing with excitement. One person wrote, “Kulman Ghising is the leader we need! His Bahrain speech shows he cares about us.” Another said, “Ujyalo Nepal is not just a dream—it’s a plan to make Nepal shine!”
Why Does This Matter?
Kulman Ghising’s Bahrain speech is important because it gives Nepalis hope. Nepal has faced many challenges, like poor roads, schools, and jobs. People want leaders who work hard and keep promises. Kulman Ghising’s work with electricity showed he can get things done, and now he’s asking everyone to help make Nepal a place where kids can dream big and families can live happily.
His idea of good governance is simple: leaders should be honest, listen to people, and make fair choices. This is something even young kids can understand—when everyone plays fair, life is better for all.
A Call to Action
Kulman Ghising ended his Bahrain speech with a promise: “If you support me, I’m ready to move forward.” He’s asking Nepalis everywhere—whether in Bahrain, Nepal, or other countries—to join his movement of light. This means working together to fix problems, build better schools, create jobs, and make Nepal a country everyone is proud of.
For now, his Ujyalo Nepal campaign is just starting, but it’s already sparking hope. As one Nepali in Bahrain said, “With Kulman Ghising, Nepal feels like it’s finally waking up.”
Will you join the movement of light? Kulman Ghising is ready to lead, and Nepal is ready to shine.
