A large pro-monarchy rally in Kathmandu started peacefully. People came together to support the return of the monarchy in Nepal. But suddenly, things went wrong. Police and protesters clashed. The situation became dangerous. Many were hurt, and some even lost their lives.
This tragic event shocked the nation. It raised many questions about Nepal’s political protest violence and its future.
Why Did the Rally Happen?
For years, some people in Nepal wanted the king to return. They believe the monarchy was better for the country. These people organized a Kathmandu pro-monarchy rally to demand change.
However, not everyone agrees with them. Others want Nepal to stay a democracy. This disagreement led to strong emotions on both sides.
What Went Wrong at the Protest?
The protest was peaceful at first. But then, clashes started between police and protesters. Witnesses say that police used tear gas and batons to control the crowd. Protesters responded by throwing stones. A journalist from Kathmandu reported that the crowd became uncontrollable, leading to serious injuries.
Who Was Affected?
Many people suffered because of the violence. Some were injured, and a few even lost their lives. Families of those affected are now seeking justice. A doctor from a local hospital told reporters, “We treated many people with head injuries and breathing problems.”
What Will Happen Next?
The government has started an investigation. They want to find out what went wrong and how to prevent such violence in the future. Experts say that Nepal’s leaders must listen to the people and find a peaceful solution. Many fear that if tensions continue, there may be more clashes at Kathmandu protests in the future.
conclusion
This deadly rally in Kathmandu has left Nepal in shock. People are now asking whether the country should bring back the monarchy or continue with democracy. No matter what happens next, the most important thing is peace.
