Tragedy Strikes Nepali Family in U.S. Home

What was once a quiet home in a peaceful neighborhood has now become the center of a heartbreaking tragedy. A Nepali family two parents and their two young children were found dead in what police believe to be a murder-suicide.

The victims have been identified as Santosh Pariyar, 38, his wife Anju Shrestha, 36, their 8-year-old daughter, and 2-year-old son. According to authorities, all four family members died from gunshot wounds.

The devastating discovery came after someone requested a welfare check. When police arrived at the home, they found all four family members deceased. The neighborhood, usually filled with laughter and the sound of children playing, fell silent.

Neighbors are still in shock. Many remember seeing the two children happily playing outside just days before. One neighbor shared, “They seemed like a lovely family. The kids were always laughing, running around. It’s hard to believe this happened.”

The family had moved into the neighborhood only six months ago. Originally from Nepal, they had come to the United States looking for a better life. Friends and local community members say they were quiet, polite, and kept to themselves.

Though details are still unfolding, police believe the incident may be a murder-suicide. Investigators are working to determine what led to the tragedy. Authorities have not yet confirmed who fired the shots, and an official motive remains unknown.

The news has sent shockwaves through the broader Nepali community across the United States. Many Nepali Americans are mourning, sharing their grief on social media, and organizing support for the relatives of the victims back in Nepal.

Community leaders have expressed sadness and concern, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness and support for immigrant families who may be facing stress, isolation, or other unseen struggles.

Local organizations are stepping in to offer counseling and support to those affected by the news. Candlelight vigils are being planned to honor the lives of Santosh, Anju, and their two young children.

The tragedy has left many questions, but above all, it has left a deep wound in the hearts of those who knew the family and the Nepali community at large.

As police continue their investigation, the community remains united in grief, hoping to bring some comfort to the family’s extended relatives and friends both in the U.S. and back in Nepal.
